I do not understand the craze about Twilight. Yes, I have read the books and I do own the first movie, but I am not an obsessed fan. I do not wish to marry an "Edward" nor would I prefer to have a vampire bite me. Someone told me today about people who dressed up at midnight to go see the newest edition to the saga. Yes, I will admit I did go see it opening weekend, but that was because nothing better was in theaters. Twilight is what I call a "beach read" its easy to follow and quick to finish. It's not a literary classic. I don't think it will be taught in classrooms in the future, but it's a pretty good book series. A typical chick flick. What upsets me the most is the fact that before the movies came out, the book series was not nearly as popular. Many people have jumped on to the Twilight bandwagon due to the pretty faces of the actors. Even celebrities are getting in on it too. Now there is a fight over which is better: Edward or Jacob. Either you're team Edward or team Jacob. And people are deeply offended when you do not choose their side! It is a franchise that I do not think Iwill ever fully grasp. Ido not understand the appeal of being dead forever and getting bit in the neck. Maybe some people like that. But who am I to judge.
